Our Purpose

Nova Active Rehab is a team of experienced integrated rehab professionals. Our physiotherapist and kinesiologist team works with patients throughout the Lower Mainland at private clinics.

Together, we help patients recover from injuries, reduce their pain, improve their health, and more.

Nova Active Rehab was founded in 2015 by Marie Perkins. Her team’s passion and commitment to rehabilitation has helped hundreds of drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and more recover from car accidents.

Marianne Tout, Kinesiologist in North Vancouver BC

Marianne Tout graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Kinesiology. Marianne’s studies focused on movement analysis, exercise physiology, and injury rehabilitation. She enjoys helping people recover and loves seeing her clients reach their goals. That’s why our clients appreciate working with Marianne so much. Being born and raised on the North Shore, Marianne enjoys hiking, skiing, and swimming.

Marie Perkins, kinesiologist and owner of Nova Active Rehab, is known for her compassion and willingness to bend over backwards to accommodate patients with unique rehabilitation needs. She found her niche helping patients recover from motor vehicle accidents. It’s because of her dedication that makes Nova Active Rehab so special. In her leisure she can be found hiking, cycling or running with her husband and children.

Helen graduated from UBC in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. She is certified in Acupuncture, IMS, and has completed the Intermediate Exam of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy. Helen takes a holistic approach to find the root causes of the symptoms, and uses a combination of manual therapy, modalities, needling, exercises and education to help her clients with their recovery needs.

Thomas graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and an Extended Minor in Psychology. These areas of study stood out to him because of his interest in human movement and behaviour, and his desire to help others live healthy lifestyles through education and rehabilitation. She helps clients to achieve their personal goals through evidence-based approaches to rehabilitation.

Carlo graduated from Trinity Western University with a Bachelors of Human Kinetics. Having played sports most of his life, Carlo has experienced injuries and the rehabilitation journey. He desires to help others through their own rehab/health journey by providing them with the knowledge and support they need to recover fast. Carlo is a huge sports fan who loves to play basketball and dabble in other sports.

Matthew Sim graduated from the University of British Columbia Okanagan with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics. He has an avid interest in human movement and sports, which inspired the path towards kinesiology and eventually active rehabilitation. His unique perspective on active rehab helps clients understand how simple exercises and stretches can improve physical and mental well-being and help them recover fast.

Our locations

Physiotherapy is offered at our Port Coquitlam/Coquitlam clinic on Westwood Street. Sessions are also offered virtually.

If you need a kinesiologist in Vancouver BC, look no further than Nova Active Rehab. Our team offers kinesiology throughout the Lower Mainland at multiple locations, which are funded by ICBC 100% so there’s no additional cost to you in the event you have been in a car accident.

Currently, we are offering kinesiology in-person as well as online (over Zoom) to best accommodate anyone who needs help with their recovery but for any reason are unable to leave their homes.
